My Take on Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery.

One of my all time favourite books. There was a long running series as well with the same title "Anne of Green Gables". The author of this book is Lucy Maud Montgomery. This story is about an  orphan named Anne Shirley and her adventures on the picturesque Prince Edward Island. I hope to visit this beautiful place someday.

This heart-warming tale is about an aging brother and sister, Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert, who decide to adopt a boy to help with the chores around their farm. When Mathew goes to the train station to pick the boy, he is surprised to find a girl instead. As the result of a misunderstanding, the boy turns out to be none other than Anne, a feisty and lively redhead who is as charming as she is tenacious.

At first Mathew and Marilla are dumb founded as to what could Anne do for them. Then Mathew wisely observes that he and Marilla might be of some use to Anne. From there onwards, begins the warm tale of three lives that grow together in the enchanted Avonlea. Anne is a smart girl with a stubborn streak and headstrong ways. She wins many friends and admirers in Avonlea, including her best friend Diana Barry, and her handsome admirer, Gilbert Blythe, who often find themselves unintentional victims of Anne's misadventures.

This is a book that I would recommend for every girl that is on the verge of becoming a teenager. It gives an insight to how Anne like any other teenage girl all around the world goes through the growing pains with laughter and tears. It will also give an insight on how life is in another country.
